The project

In the redevelopment project for the park access area and the square of Villa Quartara for the Gaslini Foundation, the decisive factor was the ability to design the intervention as a single system, capable of responding in a differentiated manner to the functions of the various areas.

For the access road crossing the park, HiSkin Drain was adopted—a structural pervious concrete chosen to improve trafficability on a section characterized by heterogeneous subgrades (partly compacted soil, partly concrete) where water stagnation and puddling occurred.

The intervention resolved these critical issues, providing a stable, permeable, and safe surface, with a noticeable improvement in daily usability for both vehicles and pedestrians.

In the square in front of Villa Quartara, a highly prestigious area, Mosaico Drenante was used instead—a continuous finish capable of enhancing the perceived quality of the space while maintaining mechanical and drainage performance appropriate for the context.

The result is not merely the application of two distinct materials, but an integrated project: the structural base and the finish work in synergy, adapting to different functional and formal requirements.

A further valuable element was the efficient management of resources.
The ability to limit invasive demolitions and enhance existing conditions made it possible to maintain economic balance without compromising technical and expressive quality.

Villa Quartara demonstrates how the HiSkin System can be successfully adopted even in public and landscape-sensitive contexts, ensuring design consistency, structural reliability, and visual quality.
