HiSkin for Riso Scotti: the Leonardo project

Since its inception, HiSkin has focused its research on high-performance permeable paving, capable of combining technical quality, aesthetic value, and environmental sustainability.

The project carried out at the production headquarters of Riso Scotti S.p.A. follows this same direction—a company that has chosen to enhance the principles of circular economy and supply chain sustainability through a symbolic and identity-driven intervention.

An entire area in the company garden has been dedicated to Leonardo da Vinci, a figure closely linked to the development of the irrigation systems that favored rice cultivation in the Lomellina region. The project involved the creation of a rice-grain-shaped pedestrian path enclosing a 19th-century water wheel and a hydro-resin sculpture over four meters high depicting the elderly face of Leonardo.

HiSkin was involved in paving the walkway using Mosaico Drenante, a seamless system made of natural aggregate and resin, chosen for its consistency with the project’s environmental values and its ability to integrate harmoniously into the landscape.

The work was carried out using a cold-application process, focusing on reducing environmental impact and natural rainwater management, in line with the sustainable vision of the intervention.

From a compositional standpoint, the paving was created using Breccia Aurora, with contrasting profiles in Bianco Carrara and Occhialino (3 mm grain size), to interpret the color nuances of a rice grain and enhance the architectural design of the path.

The result is a symbolic space that combines historical memory, corporate culture, and environmental awareness through a technical surface capable of engaging with the artistic and landscape design.
